Welcome
ELMI Meeting features scientific lectures on state-of-the-art microscopy combined with “hands-on” workshops and exhibition of the latest technology.
Welcome to ELMI2017
Welcome to ELMI2017
We are pleased to announce and cordially invite you to join the 17th international European light microscopy initiative meeting which is taking place in Valamar Lacroma hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia, May 23-26, 2017 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
As with previous meetings, the elmi2017 will host a large trade exhibition, aimed to show the latest equipment from the manufacturers of all different kinds of microscopes and microscopy techniques, as well as suppliers of accessories and consumables, preparation tools, image analysis systems, and some of the important publishers in the field. Trade exhibition will be followed by the industrial workshops and technical lectures.
Dubrovnik is an exceptional medieval stone-walled city and one of the Europe´s most sought after conference destinations. With its UNESCO World Heritage listed sites, mild climate all year around and direct flights from all over 50 large international airport, it is an ideal place to merge business and comfort and we believe this conference will be a highly rewarding professional and networking experience for all.
International European Light Microscopy Initiative Meeting
The European Light Microscopy Initiative was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment. Its aim is to promote the quickly developing field of light microscopy as a fundamental research tool for the life sciences and to strengthen the channels of communication between researchers and industry. The annual ELMI meeting, which has been running for the last 13 years at various venues across Europe, has an excellent reputation within the microscopy community, making this meeting a key event in the calendar of hundreds of scientists and developers.
The strength of this meeting lies in the mixture of scientific lectures on state-of-the-art, high-end microscopy combined with “hands-on” workshops and exhibition of the latest technology, organized by the leading companies in the field. In 2017 we will maintain the format and focus on leading edge developments and its implementation to life science.

Programme
Programme
In 2017, the scientific program will cover a broad range of imaging techniques and applications.
Including:
Multimodal, mesoscopic and light-sheet microscopy
Intravital microscopy
Specimen preparation and analysis
Light microscopy in biophysics
Image processing and analysis
Light microscopy in biology
Centered around the plenary scientific lectures on technology development and biological applications in these fields (without parallel lecture sessions), ELMI 2017 offers a fantastic opportunity for less experienced users to gain solid knowledge in a range of imaging techniques. It also provides an excellent opportunity for networking with the industry and other devoted microscopists in a strong social format. Expert users will enjoy the hands-on workshops in the latest developing instrumentation, and the chance to gain insight into the next generation of technologies.
